Anyway the email stared this way and had really good advice nor niche selling.  I didn&#8217;t buy his program or whatever he was selling&#8230; but his stating the obvious was great:</p>

<p>Seriously, some so-called &#8220;marketing gurus&#8221; have built an<br />
entire career teaching this one simple system, and I&#8217;m<br />
going to lay it out for you, step-by-step, right now for<br />
free&#8230;</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how it works:</p>
<p>1) Choose a niche.<br />
2) Create a name-capture page offering a free report,<br />
  ecourse, or other content in exchange for the opt-in.<br />
3) Drive traffic using Google AdWords and other PPCs to<br />
  your name capture page (you should convert at least 10%<br />
  of your visitors into subscribers).<br />
4) Promote affiliate programs to your subscribers in your<br />
  content as well as in the follow-up sequence to off-set<br />
  the costs of the pay per click ads (and even generate a<br />
  profit in some cases&#8230;)</p>
